"And go!" shouted the coach.
Cathy, the first person in line shoots and... scores! Next, its my turn and I dribble twice trying to do my free throw just like every other as I was told to do so. I miss, but quickly get my rebound and go back in for a layup. Audry, the person behind me, missed their first shot leaving Danielle, the person behind Audry, to determine the first person out. She shoots and scores. Audry is the first person out and will not be receiving a prize in this Knock Out competition.
The game continues with free throws made until everyone gets out except Cathy and I. We swooshed free throw after free throw until we were both very out of breath and could hardly dribble the ball anymore. Finally, I miss, but make my layup before she gets back to the free throw line. Cathy misses her next free throw giving me a chance to win, but I miss mine too. So we go on for a few minutes, shot after shot missing two foot shots in our exhaustion. Eventually, Cathy makes her shot and slowly dribbles back to the free throw line for victory. However, I make my layup and dribble up right behind her. Cathy pauses for a bit at the free throw line, trying to using up time to catch her breath. She shoots her free throw, and misses to where her ball bounced back several feet. I miss my free throw too and a few layups while she runs to get her ball. When Cathy returned and missed her layup she then threw her ball purposely at mine in order to give her a better chance to win. However, when her ball bounced off of mine, it went in the basket, making her winner, even though she cheated.
*The reason that this is not understandable at all is that you cannot announce a game, especially a basketball game and have your readers understand it, which is why there aren't as many basketball books and movies as with other sports.

The Adventures of Mark and the Watson's Backyard
There once was a dog named Mark. Mark was the runt of the litter. He was smaller than the rest to the extent that he could hardly walk, let alone run. So one day, Mark got run over by a truck and he is now a three-legged dog. His birth defects also led him to bark incorrectly, which made him sound funny to the other dogs. But ever since then Mark has been the most annoying of all the neighborhood dogs. He would bark for hours and hours, "Ar, Ar, Ar, Ar, Ar!" While all of the other dogs stayed silent or bark in an "Arf, Arf, Arf!"
At first the other dogs only teased him out of fun and play. But Mark thought that they were being serious, so he tried to kill one of the other dogs by starting a fight with him. The fight only lasted for a few minutes because a fight between a small, three legged dog and as large, 4 legged dog is going to end in the obvious manor. Mark was thrown to the ground by his opponent, only to be ashamed. However, Mark didn't even know that he was in the wrong.
On the day that the neighborhood gathering took place all of the neighborhood tenants could only agree to one thing: Mark had to go. He was such an aggressive dog and he just barked all day long. They didn't know how they would do it, by informing the owner of a warning or just saying that he had bitten someone who is about to sue. Perhaps they would dispose of him by killing him in the night, or calling the pound and having them take him away. However they got rid of Mark, they would have to do it fast, because the Garrison's were going to be moving into the neighborhood next week and everyone in town knew that there was to be no trouble caused to the Garrisons.
Meanwhile, Mark continued with his obnoxious bark. He even gave thought to fighting another dog again. As the dogs walked by him he pretended to be a normal dog, which he usually would give a lot of effort to, but never would succeed. Mark liked to stalk the other dogs, he thought that if he hung around them enough while he was unwanted that perhaps maybe they would want to be with him again. All of Mark's attempts failed miserably.
Back at the meeting the neighborhood tenants had decided that the only way to quickly dispose of Mark was to capture him in the middle of the night and sell him on the side of the road the next day. If no one fell for their savvy trick of getting a sweet dog as a family pet then the would bury him alive the following night in Mr. Watson's backyard.

This Wasn't Even an Exciting Promt
It was an ordinary Monday. I woke up and ate breakfast, as usual. Then, as usual, my mother gave me the grocery list for the week and some bus money. I always helped my mother out with errands and chores because she is very sick, and cannot do many on her own. I then told my mom that I'd be back in a couple hours, then I left. As I got in line for the bus stop I pondered what news Eric would bring me, for he rides the bus everyday out of having nothing to do at his house. When the bus arrived I payed for my ride and then walked to the back row of seats that I usually sat in. When I got there, however, instead of the typical graffiti covered chairs that I always found, I came across a diamond necklace. Or, at least, it appeared to be real diamond. Rumor has it there's only one way to tell if something is real diamond or not. You must scratch the diamond on a window, if the rock leaves a mark, it is a true diamond. If the rock leaves the window clean, you only have a worthless stone. It was destruction of property, but if it was a real diamond, then I could pay to have the window fixed. Besides, I doubt that anyone would even notice a small scratch on a city bus window. So I scratched the diamond on the window... It left a large mark. It was real diamond! I was rich! I can now use my new found wealth to pay for my mother's medical bills. I then sat there in disbelief until the bus stopped near Eric's house. As usual, Eric got on the bus and walked all the way to the back to sit by me. I wasn't sure weather I should tell Eric or not. He might try to tell me that I should give him the necklace or maybe he would even be selfish enough to steal it. But Eric's a nice guy, and he knows that my mother needs the money. Besides, I'm just so thrilled.
"Hi," Eric says plainly.
"What's up?" I asked in return hoping that he didn't have much to say and that he would only return the question.
"None more than the usual. What's new with you?" Eric replied to my relief.
"I found a diamond necklace today! Now I can afford to help my mom get better," I said with joy.
"Wow! That's cool. Don't you think, though that who ever this necklace belongs to is going to want it back? There's almost no doubt that they'd give you a large cash reward," Eric said. I knew that he would find some way to make this disappointing to me.
"Yes, I do think that they would want it back and they probably would give me a cash reward, but I'm sure that the diamond is worth more money. I really need the money, Eric," I replied, wining a little bit.

I Don't Like This Story And I Think Its Boring
The first time I saw Steven, he painted a hex sign on my right arm, and I couldn't move my fingers for three hours. I had thought nothing of it and I tried to find a logical explanation like perhaps a muscle cramp, however, now, I know that he's different. Trying to avoid him isn't as easy as one would think. He lives next door, and his mother and mine are good friends. Today, while I was at his house for lunch with my mother he didn't touch his food, but instead sat there making pleasant conversation with us as if nothing was different. After everyone else had finished eating he politely excused himself and exited upstairs to what must have been his room, or perhaps his lair, knowing him. When his mother questioned me for not following my play friend I simply stated that I was fine where I was and that I did not need to leave the living room. She seemed a little annoyed with this answer as if she was hoping that I would leave. So rather than remain in this uncomfortable situation my curiosity lead me upstairs to my futuristic doom. When I got upstairs I could see three rooms with closed doors. Around the corner I found the forth room. I could tell that this fourth room must be his because it had the same black hex symbol painted very large on the door. The door was cracked open to the extent that I could see inside without him realizing he was being spied on too easily. He was reading, and for an eight year old, or any person for that matter, this was kind of strange. It was a particularly large book and it appeared to have around 800 pages in it with tiny print that I could not strain my eyes well enough to be able to read from the doorway. In his room I was able to see a typical bed with a blue comforter on top, and a set of shelves with what looked to be handmade weapons of some sort resting on the shelve peacefully. He soon turned around to find me at the door peaking in and looking around at my leisure. I was scared. He seemed like a nice enough kid, but he was just so different. He came closer, opened up the door, stared at me for a while, and eventually said, "Do you want to play a game?"
What kind of a game could he be thinking? Could it be the tie her up and sacrifice her to the Gods of darkness game? I'm most certainly not playing that game. Though, he looked so sad and lonely, I didn't want to be rude, and I couldn't think of anything better to do, so I replied nervously, "What kind of game?"
"I want to take you to a world that you would know of as only imaginary where we can race in the sky. I haven't told many people about it, but its so lonely there because there aren't any people, so I'd like to keep it a secret." He replied back.
"You say you want to take me where?"
"I want to take you to my world, I like to call it Zeldon, because I don't have a better name for it. Its perfectly safe, like I said, there's no one there."
Just what I need, an imaginary kingdom to be alone with him and his sacrificial games. This doesn't seem safe at all, however, I don't care. "Alright, I'll come." I finally replied with a regretful tone.
"Follow me." He said delightfully.
I then did as he said following him into his dark, surprisingly empty, closet. He closed the door to make sure not light came in. He then turned around and wispered something softly. About 2 minutes later I found myself with him in a land where the background constantly changed. "Think about emptiness and white." He said.
That was what I did and my surroundings soon settled. "You have to understand, you will be in whatever area you think about and it will be the real place, however, you will always have supreme power." He informed me.
